- Domain is the Primary Unit of Administration in PowerCenter.
- It is a collection of Nodes and Services.
Nodes:
Node is a Logical Representation of a Machine in a Domain.Services and Process run on nodes in a domain. One Node in a Domain is a Gateway to receive service requests from clients and route them to the appropriate service and node.The availability of a service or process on a node depends on how you configure the service and the node.
Gateway Nodes :
Routes Service requests from PowerCenter Client to available Nodes. One Node in a domain serves as a Gateway for domain.All Core services run on a Gateway Node. If Gateway Node is unavailable, domain cannot accept Service Requests.
